Is it possible to record video from both devices at the same time?

I need the device to record two videos at the same time, using front and rear rooms.

I do not need high bitrates, memories may not work.
I would create a video with 1 or 2 frames per second. So that the resulting videos are very small.

I tried with all available libraries, but none allowed me to access both at the same time.

It's possible on the HTC m8, the OnePlusOne and the Motorola Nexus 6, as far as I have tested. Many more phones might support it, but you just have to test on the phones and see if the app crashes or not.

You create a camera object for each available camera and have each attach to the preview callback.

-edit- So far I've found that this works on Snapdragon 801 based phones. Dunno if all of them do it or what other SOCs support it, but that's what I've found so far.

(Not tested, just thinkin out loud)
You could try to alternate realy fast between back and front and allways take a picture. Later put the pics together to an animated gif...

Not only are there technical times but also the battery will go down because it has to record at least an hour to produce a video of a few comma minutes as I want 2 or 3 frames per second

My project consists of this:

Place the device under the center rearview mirror. During a trip with my car, the back-camera will have to record the route, the front one inside the passenger compartment.

In the end, you will have to play a video of just a few minutes that will give you the idea of the path as if it were displayed at high speeds. At the same time in a window the passengers inside the passenger compartment on the same route

IMO the people in a car aren't that important...
You could take a pic of them every minute and the rest of the time record the road.
I know this doesn't solve your technical problem...

To do this I have to stop the video and let it restart ... the time I'm up and restart are not so fast.

You think it's not important I saw the final effect made with two different devices and put together the 2 videos The final product is very interesting. At least for me it is very nice :D:D:D
