Android Widgets and Versions

Hi guys

I have an Android Phone, and when I bought it it was on Android 1.6, but I have updated it since that, to 2.1...
Wich got me to make 2 questions..
1 - What will be the base version of Android wich Basic4Android will target?
Since some features are 2.1 specific, yet native, how will it be possible to target those?
2 - Will it be possible to create Widgets? This should be a must, as more and more small aps are reduced to their Widget form...

1. The base version is 1.6. It is possible however to create libraries that target a newer platform and then use the new platform instead of 1.6.

Not sure if it will be possible to do it in the first version. If it will not be in the first version it will probably be supported in the next one.
