Trying to figure out the cause of a crash on startup yesterday, I plugged the USB cable into my phone.

Spent about 20 minutes clicking 'Connect' in B4A. Trying 'Restart ADB server.' Restarting the debugger. Checking the phone options.

Wondering "Why the hell won't the USB debugger connect?"

Before realising that the other end of the USB cable was plugged into my Mac, rather than the PC...

Either too much coffee or not enough.

I had this problem yesterday. I needed to send a report that was on my smartphone. I plugged the usb cable into the desktop pc and for a long time I didn't understand why my notebook didn't recognize the smartphone.

NO Never Ever . . . I prefer to end my days and spend two hours at 2AM trying to realise the difference between
B4X-locatorNW.png and B4X-LocatorNW.png
someone said in another thread the other day : its the simple ones that find it easiest to elude/evade one
and, of course, there was the kind Forum member [you know who you are] who once pointed out to me that this ; is not a B4X construct.......thanks again.

I Found The Darn Semi-Colon! Yay For Once !! - oops wrong language . . . .

Oh god... and string concatenation!

My server side stuff is in PHP ( uses . for concatenation ), while the apps are all in B4X ( & ) , and the web front-end uses a ton of JavaScript ( + ). If I've been working on all three in the same day, it's almost inevitable some string somewhere is going to get badly messed up, or throw an error, because of this.

  • I open project source code
  • make some changes
  • open another from backup to check another logic
  • make changes in active code
  • bang my head why exe not showing changes
  • add msgbox etc.
  • then realize was making changes in backup code
  • now both are a mess !!

Anand

A scientist took a fly and cut off his legs and shouted "fly!" and the fly flew away, he recorded the results. He cut the fly's wings and shouted "fly!" and the fly didn't move. The scientist put down in the conclusion that a fly with no wings a no legs loses his hearing.
I reach such conclusions several times a day.
