i also set administrator rights to b4j (something i never had to do) but still no luck so i am back to version 8.10

thanx, ilan

EDIT: b4j 8.10 runs fine without any action from my side.

The access denied error is unlikely to be related to B4J version. Such errors happen when the app is still running.

Install v8.30 and if you still encounter this error, restart the PC.

this is the first thing i did. but it did not solve the issue. anyway i managed to install b4j 8.3 by deleting the files that where denied but still i cannot build my apps as you can see in picture number2. i restarted my pc several times and reinstall b4j but no luck so i went back to b4j8.10 and it working fine. i dont know why b4j 8.3 is not running on my system . i never had such problems in the past.

is it an SSD? It may be an indication that it is failing. A couple of months ago, I started to get weird memory errors that I could not explain and files that could randomly not be accessed. Our IT guy checked it and it was my SSD disk. Replaced it with a new one (SSD cloned on another machine to the new one) and no problems since. #FingersCrossed

yes it is a SSD. i could manage to install b4j after deleting those files but it is not building apps anymore. installing b4j 8.1 works fine.

As I wrote, it doesn't look related to B4J version.
Maybe an over-aggressive anti virus.

ok if you say it is not related then i cannot argue with you. i am also not complaining i just inform that b4j 8.3 is not building apps. installing v8.1 works so why do you think it is something else?

it can be the antivirus i dont know. but why b4j 8.1 and lower works and b4j 8.3 not? maybe signing certification?

anyway i am good with b4j 8.1 i just wanted to inform about that issue maybe you can find something erel. anyway from my side i dont see any problems.

Sorry Ilan but this is not the correct way to solve such problems...

ok erel, i really would love to use b4j8.3 but i have no idea what to do. if you have suggestion then i am ready to try them. restarting the pc and reinstalling b4j did not work.
i am using norton antivirus 360 as my anti virus so maybe try to disable it when installing b4j? the thing is that why should norton stop a specific version and not all versions?
again i am not a specialist in this area so if you have suggestions i am open to try them.

I noted the path has space, C:\Anywhere Software
May be it is causing problem, as I had problem with it in my initial days with B4A and have since name folder as AnywhereSoftware.

Anand

Have you got folder protection on? - that can prevent things working if they try to change a file in a protected folder.

thanx to all replies. erel (as always) were right. the reason for the issue was the antivirus although it worked with old version so i have no idea why norton does not like v8.3 :)

anyway, what i did is "Exclude Process" in norton and everything works fine now.

thanx guys :)

This time Erel has inserted a virus that Norton has identified, in the previous version he had one still undiagnosed
