Welcome gamedev!! And congrats to the parents ;)

Having more B4X related communities demonstrates the product's good health so it's necessarily good news :)

It would be great if the search engine could work with results from both sites

Just curious but why a separate forum?
Wouldn't it be easier to make a section here in the forum?
I asked it last thursday here and the answer was no.
I personally think it would be better to have a sub forum about game development here...

Games are one filed of development, if a separate forum is setup then others can ask for forums for other subjects like process control forum, robotics form...etc.
Therefore I think it's good idea to set it independently.. but with Erel endorsement I see it is somehow affiliated with b4X.. I don't think it's necessary to have both
forums synchronized.. I don't see a point here.. otherwise if what's posted on this new forum is synched with B4A so why should I bother visiting it in the first place?
I support the idea, but it should be true independent from B4A. This idea inspired another idea to me, that I will suggest also a private forum for automation and IoT
using B4X.

I would wait for the upcoming B4R IDE release, wich will sprout a lot more IoT related stuff

I am still doubtful about a separate forum for game-developing and I would like to know the advantages of a separate forum instead of a section here in the forum? Can someone please explain the same to me?

In my opinion, if you want to create a separate forum for gaming, then it should be totally independent from this forum. Just by creating moderators, you are doing it independent and a step in that direction so why not do it 100%?

Just my few cents for whatever they are worth....

Note: I just saw @Beja having the same opinion as me so apparently I am not alone.

From what I see and can understand, the GameDev forum is as independent as it can be!
In what other way, other than being related to Games developed/developing using B4X products, it is related to B4X? And how could it be "100% independent"?
Linking both ways the threads created in the new forum, will make easier to "discover" the forums, so a user searching for LibX related stuff in B4X.com will find references to the GameDev, and users landing for the first time in the GameDev Forum will find references to B4X.com.
It's a win-win combo!

BTW, EREL didn't endorse, as I've read in a post here, the creation of the new forum... He just gave his permission to do so, as long as some conditions were met.

Well, me for sure, would not like to see search results in this B4X forum, as suggested, showing threads from another "independent" forum. If it is independent, then it should be independent 100%. If I am interested in gaming, then I can join the game forum and participate there. Just keep the B4X forum clean.

That's true.
I'm happy to see other online communities related to B4X and I hope that it will be successful.

It is a bit too early to talk about adding it to this forum site engine. Maybe in the future (with wonder's permission of course).

Good morning!! :)

I see the gamedev forum as a place to have in-depth discussions about collision detection, Path-Finding Algorithms, User-Interfaces, VR-Headsets, Artificial Intelligence and how it all relates and/or can be implemented with B4X (w/Java, w/C++, w/Obj C). There is no Chit-Chat section, it is solely tech related.

I don't want to divide the community, it's just a videogame dedicated space which at the same time showcases all the B4X suite RAD potential.

I don't think it's necessary to have both
forums synchronized..
Just like b4x.com, support will only be provided to licensed users. This way, the possibility of the gamedev forum becoming a haven for B4X pirates is nullified.

with wonder's permission of course
Of course, you don't even need to ask. :)

That sounds good, but how users' licenses are verified? just from the names they provide? this should be an issue I believe, because
100k members, where most of them are not active, then like in Face Book, some guys can pretend licensed members while they are not..
And if the verification is through B4X then it is a b4x forum.. I still finding it a little hard to understand.. I thought it should either be
another forum of B4X, or completely foreign website.. there are already a few of them out there.

Not only by username but also by verification code, @Beja.

Please register with the same username you use in here.
Once you registered, I'll send you an activation code in the gamedev forum which you'll have to report back to me in b4x.com.

wonder@gamedev --> CODE --> username01@gamedev --> Copy/Paste --> username01@b4x.com (licensed) --> CODE --> wonder@b4x.com

but how other people managed to register?

What is the thing that should be copied or pasted, from where?
Why do they say copy to this box instead of paste to this box?

Many things not so clear. after all it is not about simplicity.. it's about possibility.

- A new user registers and gets access to the basic "General Videogames" forum.
- We (admin's) send the user an activation code via private message (gamedev forum).
- The user reports back the code to us (admin's) in b4x.com.
- The user is now verified.
