Very interesting comments.

The thing with B4X is that even without Erel you still have a functional product and still have opportunities to extend it using libraries etc.

Things could be worse, anyone remember AppForge? People invested heavily in the platform and then they literally lost everything when they turned off the activation servers.

That's often the problem with shiny new things like flutter etc. they seem great until the rug gets pulled from under you.

Anyone still remember Microsoft Silverlight? Even Adobe Flash is discontinued.

we have a relative new (<2 years old) software package that was developed in silverlight.
when they started changing their old trash to a real web based version (in SL) silverlight was already unsupported and on the EOL list.

Fuchsia OS is dead together with Flutter and Dart. Ya, it dies in the future date 2023 a year before Flutter. That is how we pronounce the word as “Future”. Remember Armadillo is dead in 2018.

I don't know about fuchia, but flutter and dart are certainly not death where did you read that ??
Flutter 2 was released 3 months ago. Google even partnered with canonical (ubuntu) to create desktop apps on linux

Before I started my own company I learned this valuable lesson:

I was working for a small company that wrote some brilliant software. First CAD system for drawing electronic schematics - fed right in to CAD systems for PC design. They were too small and undercapitalized to do what needed to be done. (This was before Vulture Capitalists saw software as a viable business. It was still about hardware.) They almost sold the company to someone that could make it go.
The showstopper - it was written in FORTH. The primary programmer had a bumper sticker, "Forth Love If Honk Then"

I used Forth on my ZX81 back in the early 80th. I even wrote a Forth interpreter in Comal 80 in high school. I also have a HP48SX calculator and an emulated version on my phone.

For daily use I prefer normal left-to-right calculations.

Sorry, off topic, but an answer to the comment above.

When I make daily calculations I use THIS calculator, with Reverse Polish Notation.
I have been used to RPN since the HP35 scientific calculator, in the early 70s.
RPN seems confusing at the beginning, but when you are used to it, it is much easier than the left to right calculations, at least for me.

In a galaxy far away I wrote my own Forth inspired interpreter for the TRS-80, ported it to CP/M and then to the IBM PC. My company did some nice industrial projects with that language which implemented a pre-emptive multi tasking interrupt organiser. I loved Forth and I still have my copy of the classic "Threaded Interpretive Languages" by R.G. Loeliger and copies of the Forth-79 and Forth-83 standards documents.

EDIT: And it still runs on a 32bit Windows 10 OS.
