Android Question background service, Popup on home screen

Hi,

I'm running a background service and when i get a value from bluetooth and you are on the home screen I would like it to either reopen my app to the alart page or show I message box. How can I achieve my goal?

Theres an app I current use callled Extrem Alarm and what happens is it runs as a background service and when its time for the alarm to sound the Extrem Alarm snooze or dismiss screen will popup.

You can use StartActivity from the service.
For a popup, use a transparent activity.
