By default, any BANano app ran in release mode is Obfuscated. Perfect, as this add a layer of protection to ones app.

Wouldn't it be cool if this was an option left to the developer to turn it off or on just like how B4X has made this optional?

This might also help in tracking errors and other things..

No. The purpose of this is not obfuscation, but making the code smaller. Run in B4J's Debug mode to track errors.

Its fine, the purpose was not just to debug, but also the ability to create javascript based code that could work "outside" that could be plugged to existing javascript projects.

As an example, you get a project that is purely done in javascript, and just need to support and finish it, but use banano to do that. Yes the code is smaller and also obfuscated and one does not have a choice over that.
