barcode reading a breeze

I am incorporating barcode reading into my app - I can't believe how easy it was with the ABZxing library.

My thanks to whomever developed it.

Yep, certainly a breeze to incorporate into my app. Just wish it didn't force me to turn my phone landscape to scan.

Having to use the camera barcode scanner in landscape only isn't an issue with the ABZxing library, it is the scanner app settings. Try quickmark if the one you use doesn't allow portrait.

I downloaded the ABBarcodeTest example. It did not compile. So I did this:

1. Download and install the ABZxing library: http://www.b4x.com/forum/additional...es/7303-abzxing-barcode-reader.html#post41718

2. On your Android device install the Barcode Scanner from Zxing. Its free

3. Reload the ABBarcodeTest. This time it will compile and run flawlessly.

4. ???

5. Profit!!

Can I make QuickMark as the default app to download?

When a barcode scanner is not available it automatically points you to download ZXing barcode scanner. Is there any way I can select QuickMark as the default barcode scanner to download instead?

Quickmark is better for my purposes.
