There's a business opportunity for game developers with games containing human characters, that want to attract more players.

(Short version: Allow for more character selection beyond white male. Bonus points for realizing that players don't always consider themselves male or female.)

Worth noting that in quite a few games, like Skyrim, you can be a female character. My ex girlfriend loved games like World of Warcraft, where you could also play as a female character.
