can you explain it more clearly? what are you trying to achieve?

do you want check if the email address is existing within the server or you want to check if the input is email .. please dont ask the same question again

If a user posts an email, how do I check that the email is correct?

you can use httpjob .. send the email, handle the validation in the php script and check the response in jobdone
