Android Question Fastest Response, Bluetooth/Wifi Direct/other??

I need to connect 7 devices with 1 device communicating to the other 6. I need the fastest possible response so that the 6 devices respond together as closely as possible based upon the character string coming from device 1.

I messed about with Wifi direct with two devices and it doesn't appear to be instantaneous (send->receive).

Before I do too much development, I thought I'd ask about performance of wifi vs. bluetooth. All of the devices will be in the same room so distance isn't much of a factor. They need to automatically detect each other without user intervention.

Use WIFI, a PC (with WAMP server)... and everyone is listening and responding

I think WAMP server is much more than I need and I don't want to add a PC into the mix. I simply want to click a button on device 1 and devices 2 through 7 all start an animation at the same time.

In my point of view... using a server is the easy way...
