Forum showing Cloudflare

Hi,

When I browse the B4X forums, I almost always get redirected to a Cloudflare check page before the forum page loads. This happens nearly every time I open a page from search results.

About half of the images don’t display on the first load. I usually have to refresh the page before they appear.

This issue isn’t limited to one device or network. I’ve tested on:MacBook Pro, iPhone (using cellular data), Windows 10 desktop.

I’ve also tried different internet connections (home, office, and mobile data), but the problem is the same across all of them.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or could there be something I need to check on my side?

same issue, happen every few pages, but only on my iPad.
no issue on my Windows 11 pc

Hi:

It happens to me with my ipad, just the first page after a while without browsing the forum.
It began to happen since I'm using Duckduckgo browser, so I think it's something related with cookies, adblocking or something like that.

I've added some rate limits that trigger the "managed challenge" page. There was a flood of thousands of bots crawling the forum 24/7. I only see it if I open like 8 tabs at a time and then it continues working after passing the challenge.

Just for adding context: in my iPad I have just one tab.
anyway, it’s a minor annoyance if it shields from flooding, I’ll deal with it

I am finding it keeps showing the Cloudflare challenge page, and I am only opening one page at a time. Images then don't show every time. I wonder if the images on pages are triggering the rate limit somehow.

I've increased the rate limit. Please update me if you still encounter it too often in a day or two.

Note that the challenge success rate of this rule was 0.45%. Which means that 99% of the cases are probably misbehaving bots.

Getting errors - last one was SSL Failure (525) - pages are a tad slow to load.

This probably not helping things

It was very slow to load and impossible to translate the page.
Now it's working fine again.

There seems to be an excessive flood of bots in the last 24 hours. I pushed a bit the rate limit and will start blocking more aggressively.

Note that users aren't supposed to be blocked, only to be shown a verification or challenge page.

Yesterday, i was blocked... it was slow for some seconds... decide to press refresh... in first 10seconds... then after 15 seconds press again refresh... so cloudflare blocked me (all this at my mobile)... from desktop didn't see anything going slow...

I totally understand the limits set by Erel... there is no other way to fight with bots...

Ya, it happened the same to me when browsing on my mobile phone even I change from WiFi to use mobile data.

I tried using Google app (not Chrome) and view AMP version to avoid it. It can stand for a while but eventually it was still showing the blocked page.

ya... this also happened to me... i think that... happened because of cookies... (when swapping) may be needed to clean first temp/cookies - and then (get the new ip - clean/first browsing site as new user)

I don't know if it possible for Erel, to use tokens (for logged in - licensed members) - so those users have better limits... but all these need extra setup and may be custom code for Forum/xenforo. Anyway it is something we must understand and live with it...
