Have done some B4J code to extract just short of 500 000 entries from a GEDCOM file (created by my farther back in 2001 after about 15 years of research) and add it to 3 tables inside a sqlite DB:

Individuals
Families
Relationships

Took a few minutes to get it all loaded and linked in the DB with 3 tables. Now I caught the fish and need to figure out how to bring this fish to shore via B4J code using various querie - insert, delete, update, etc and a decent UI. It is a massive file of the South African Schoeman family line/history that originally originated from Germany in the 1760 odds.

I am busy trying to update my father's work from 2000 onwards as he passed away due to cancer in late 2002 and last entries entered in about 2001.

I will first attempt it via B4J and then might consider moving it to B4A.

It is very interesting to "decifer" a GEDCOM file as it is basically a flat ASCII file but one need to read and understand and interpret the entries and links to create the sqlite database.

So, respect for what you have done. I applaud your work, time, and effort to create this B4X app.
