Android Question GPS and location.Distanceto

Hi,

I need to know how many meters a runner has ran.
So i use the Location.distanceTo between actual point and prtevious point.

But it doesn't work. The distance increased even my phone stay in the same place.
There is a way to correct it ?

GPS is not 100% accurate. You will need to do something more sophisticated. Maybe take X locations and calculate the median position. If the distance is larger than Y meters then add the distance and move to the next point.

Dou you think it can works if I can ad the distance only if the speed is >0 ?

The GPS doesn't really know your speed. It calculates it based on the difference between the current location and the previous one (probably with some averaging filter).

That's what I thought, but, when the distance increase, the speed stay at 0... I will try with your advices. Thanks a lot.
