Android Question Help creating an sms grabber project

Hi, I'm new and I've read quite a few posts but none have helped me. I want to make an app that when I send an SMS to the cell, the app automatically responds back to a message with the GPS coordinates. The idea is that the app does not have to be open for it to work. In the background, it is capable of detecting the SMS input, knowing the number of the sender and responding with the GPS coordinates.


I would appreciate it if you would share a project with me so I could study it and do something like what I need.
