How to get battery statistics

Hey guys, anyone know how to get detailed battery statistics such as the detailed numbers used to draw the stock screen: under settings\about phone\battery use? or if there isn't a way to do it through a class, how to read the file format of batterystats.bin directly?

I'm not familiar with such an API. The batterystats.bin cannot be accessed on non-root devices.

You can use PhoneEvents to get the current status of the battery.

As I know the batterystats.bin format changes with every Android version so it would be a bad idea to try to parse it in an app.
