Android Question how to install multiple app with a single apk?

This is something i see many AppStore available Launchers do... I mean.. the user "installs" from the store only the launcher (1 apk) but ends up with a few extra icons on the apps list, even without starting the launcher.
So how to achieve this? I mean, create a single APK that will instal several apps?

It is not multiple apps. I guess that these are multiple shortcuts, though a custom launcher can show custom icons.

You cannot install multiple apps with a single APK (you can extract an embedded APK and install it but it requires the user approval).
