How to keep my game popular?

if I like an app but I can't pay to remove the ads, I just uninstall the dam app, really annoys me lol

I guess most people prefer to look at the ads than waste a ridiculous 1 $/€/£. I don't need much hands to count the sold ad removers so I don't add it anymore.
They might discover something new that they like aswell when seeing the ads passing by.

True, but I do well with ridiculous 1 $/€/£ though @sorex. a few years ago B4a was paid up for years to come and those ridiculous 1 $/€/£ paid for it all, not me ;)

Each to their own though @sorex, I just hate seeing ads, so I will pay to get rid of them if I like the app and the option is there to do so. What really annoys me tough (and it's cleverly by design), is that I'm just about to tap on the play/run/go/whatever button and a full screen just pops up. As long as I like the app I will always pay to remove those dam ads. I have plenty of friends that also pay to remove ads, but then again I have plenty of friends that point blank refuse to pay for anything lol.

Yep, each to their own blah blah blah :).

I don't use videos that helps keeping down the annoyance I guess. also the time when an ad pops up is predictable so they know it's coming. And on harder/bigger levels this is 1 ad in maybe 15 minutes.

and you're right, some rely on free only apps only.

Edit: that tap play/go issues is not accepted by admob policies and they check the apps on that. so it must be other ad providers that they're using there where they don't care as long as the app generates traffic.

@andymc I have a couple of simple apps on the play store. I get steady sales via simply upgrades, basically pay $0.99, £0.99, €0.99 etc for the full version (in your case more difficult screens). Maybe you should seriously consider do that. I personally hate popup ads in apps, if I like an app but I can't pay to remove the ads, I just uninstall the dam app, really annoys me lol :)

There's two idea for you to try and monetise more on your great success. BTW if I search for Space Invaders in the play store, your game appears 2nd in the search results over here in good old Blighty.

Hello from a fellow Brit then! Of course the real test is whether you drink Yorkshire or Tetley tea!

Can I add in ap purchases if they're not already there? I thought I'd have to upload a new app for that.

you need to add additional code that processes the in app purchase.

I can't answer the tea question, as the wrong answer could put me in your block list ;)

Yes you can add in-app purchase to remove ads (plenty of huge app do exactly that). I looked into that previously but decided against it, after adding admob to my apps then moaning about seeing ads in my own apps lol :D

Every ridiculous 1 $/€/£ adds up to a free costa coffe, a carvery, fish 'n' chips, pizza, pukka pie or even a nice ruby murray @andymc. 1500 downloads a day is just incredible, I hope that it keeps up for you and that you make some extra pocket money from all your hard work and dedication to making games using B4a.

BTW I want to try 'Earl Grey' one day, thanks Jean-Luc Picard

Earl grey is disgusting.... Had a bad aftertaste. Maybe they managed to improve it by the 24th century?

Okay. Will look into this. I'm sure there's a thread here on how to add iap's. Even if just 1% of players bought it then it would be well worth it.
