how to protect my app from uninstall ?

Hi guys,
I'm trying to make a security app that runs in the background and transmits GPS data to a server, so that I would be able to find my phone if it gets lost or stolen. Yet is there any way to protect such application from being closed or uninstalled or maybe even survive a hard reset?

Pretty sure that is impossible, as it would be too easy to write a virus if you could do this.

I remember there where antivurus application what were extremely hard to remove.
