Well, it's technically possible, if you enjoy lots of fannying around, getting them all to tell you the UDID of their devices. See this thread:

Well, indeed, but that's the price you pay for opting into Apple's ecosystem.

The only other alternative would be to use TestFlight, which avoids the need to get your friends' UDIDs, but requires instead that you update the app at least every 90 days.
