Bug? IDE syntax highlighting discrepancy

If you split the editor pane horizontally and/or vertically the global variable highlighting, which is normally sort of magenta, becomes black in the additional panes.

This is a known limitation. The IDE "classifer" only updates the first editor per document. It will be improved at some point.
