I have a development machine (Win7) that I cannot get the USB cable to connect to my android device and the b4a IDE. There is no wifi available.

Do I have any other options to load my app to my phone such as Bluetooth or some other method from the IDE? Or when using b4a is the Wifi or USB cable the only way?

Thanks...

My apologies if this is a dumb question: when u plug in the phone do you see a usb symbol in the notification bar of the phone screen? If yes, pull down the notification bar and see if the phone is set for charge only.

No, when I plug the USB cable into my phone, all I see is the acknowledgement in the battery widget I'm using that the battery is charging. That's all I see.

It seems at this point the problem could be anywhere! It could be a defective phone, bad cable, bad driver, etc. Even if there is no driver installed, windows should display something like "unknown usb device" when plugged in (at least it does on XP). I'd suggest a process of elimination.. 1. try to connect the phone on someone else's computer, or try someone else's phone on your computer. 2. try a different cable. 3. power down your phone and re-boot it (not a factory reset). Sorry if these are obvious, or if you've already done them, but I often miss the obvious until a friend hit's me over the head with it!:D

Good luck!

Yes well, I have 3 USB cables and tried them all. I have 3 USB ports and tried them all. The phone did work on another PC via the USB cable but has since stopped working on that PC (via the USB cable) so I'm beginning to think its something in the phone. I've re-set the phone by removing the battery. Still, no luck on my ThinkPad T420 Win7 machine.
