iOS Question In app upgrade

I was bone headed a while back...

I updated an app and submitted it as a NEW app to Apple.
Didn't really notice it till a while later.

Now my problem. BOTH versions of my app are still live. I have sales on both versions. I am trying to figure out a way to give a free "upgrade" for everyone who has the older version.
I am open to suggestions.

Contact Apple, explain your situation and ask them to resolve the situation. They most times are friendly and do help.
