is it possible to play sound files over phone calls

Is it possible to play sound files over phone calls. I want my programm make a phone number and after a few minutes play a wave file with the microphone off, for the oder end call heard clairly with no ambiant noise.

You can use a service to play music in the background. I'm not sure how it will be heard on the other side.

I don't think that you can mute the microphone.

i am also interested in an solution.
Erel, when sound is playing in the background it isnt heared by the other side.
Only with very very low volume.

Is it possible with TTS ?

It is not possible to send the audio to the "phone call channel". The best you can do is to let the microphone catch the playback or TTS speaking.

You can use backup tool to get the apk. then you can extract the code and have a look at the java-code. Or you find such functionality in a java-library and maybe some one will make a b4a wrapper for it

Got an answer. Its depending only on the device.
Normally its impossible on system level but some devices do.
I.e. Galaxy s3 works
.Galaxy note 2 not.
