Like Asp and PHP script page for database connection, is it possible to use jsp for connecting to mysql server ? Can any one post samples?

It is not possible. I'm not an expert on this subject. However I've read in many places that the only reliable way is with a solution as described in the MySQL tutorial.

Thanks for the reply. My doubt is as long as the data returned by the url is in json format irrespective of the extension like aspx, php , jsp will it not be possible to parse the same at our end ?. I pan to call the jsp page as follows:

url/xxx.jsp, "query"

Sorry, I haven't read your question correctly. You can for sure use JSP to build the web service.

Google for JSP and MySQL. I'm sure that there are many examples of issuing a query with JSP and converting the result to JSON.
