monitor question

My eye fell on these 34" devices but these come in 2560x1080 or 3440x1440.

I've been using the 34" 2560x1080 original LG version for many years, fantastic monitor and no PWM backlight flicker which is the more important feature for long use.

Honestly I would have liked 3440x1440 version for the extra pixels but as others have already mentioned it depends on your eyesight, even with glasses I had trouble seeing the small icon and other text on this model.

I would suggest you try in store first before ordering online ;)

It's the eyes. Can you read it comfortably. How old are you do you have glasses. The eyes typically start going at around 45. Allow for that.

I got the monitor a day after my post already.

What a luxery that is. it's about twice the physical width of the old 19" but almost 4 times as much horizontal work space.
I took a photo of both but it's stuck in the gmail app as it won't send out for some reason so it might appear later this week.

ok it's all a bit smaller due to the increased res but menus and stuff are still very good readable and a lot of text editors have adjustable zoom or font sizes
so if you get problems after a few hours (for example headache) you can just increase the zoom level or font size.

crap foto but it shows what it was and is.

it kept the icons order so that's how they were before on that smal monitor which covered the entire screen.
