Not sure if this is relevant, however:
Be careful with ZBar (link #2) in the post by DonManfred. This library did not work with my Samsung A55 (Android14). Maybe I had an outdated version or this lib has incompatibility issues with the phone or Android 14.
My recommendation is Johan's ZXing (top of link #1). Works perfectly and very fast. Follow Johan's instructions exactly.
