B4R Question Perpetual Newbie Nextion Displays

Hello People Who Know More About This Than I Do.

Here's what I have:
A couple of Nextion {maybe Clone} displays a 2.8 and a 3.4
The Nextion editing software
My old Friend, B4R IDE
More Arduino boards than one person should own
A fancy backPanel board for the larger display that does God Knows What.
The XMT and RCV seem to do something on the backPanel board when told by the B4R IDE to listen for a compiled transfer, but then nothing happens.
I obviously am in way over my head and am taking on water all the time.

Here's what I want to do:
Make one of these Display boards load up a GUI and interface with B4R code.

Any help or point the idiot in the right direction would be helpful.
I do have several B4X apps under my belt.

There are some other threads about that topic. As I can see it is (at least) a good start. You can grab a C example from GitHub and give it a try (via calling subs from B4R). I did this several times with other ESP32 demo sources.
