Android Question Picking up vibrations through accelometer

Hi,

Does anyone know if it would be possible to pickup vibrations from another phone when they are on the same surface in proximity?

Currently there are a few ways to exchange data (sound, BLE, WIFI etc.) but haven't seen anything yet like vibrations. I know there are apps. that pickup road bumps etc.

Wonder if this could be used to initiate for example data transfers, a little like bump.
