I have my phone for about 3 years now.

Last OS was Android 10.

Doesn't need to upgrade anytime soon. New OS are just cosmetic to me.

if you have apps on the google play store then it is important to have an updated phone with the latest OS. otherwise i agree with you.
this is why i have a pixel phone that gets the new OS first.
