Android Question Record Video

Any recommendations on what video recording library to work with? I want to take advantage of some of the newer android phones that have a slowmotion feature and can record video at 120fps. Thus need to be able to query different video recording modes and/or custom API per phone manufacturer. Don't want to use camera app that comes with phone because I want to be able to start and stop recording remotely from another android phone. If I can use camera app that comes with phone and start and stop via the API instead of user that would work.
