Android Question SDK Manager issue

When I try to update the SDK Manager by selecting Install Selected, I get the following error (see attached image). I've done what is suggested in the error to no avail. It seems as though the selected items may actually be installed; but the checkboxes never clear. What do I need to do?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried rebooting your system, any locked files should become unlocked after a reboot?

I installed the new version as directed. Reran update. These items still appear. I've manually removed the two "offending directories" as the error reports. The directories were recreated when I ran the update again. If these 7 items were installed, as I suspect, why won't they leave?

Which version of build tools are already installed? Uncheck the listed build tools and install other components.

The installed version is the very same one listed as Recommended. I did as you directed. No change. If this is something I don't have to worry about, I can live with it. These components seem to be installed, but never get recognized as BEING installed. FYI...I saw new Recommendations this morning. They installed and disappeared from the Recommended list. The "Fabulous 7" remain.
