Android Question Service: how to play sound in the background or minimized?

Hello:
I wrote a program to get alert from a remote sensor connected to a ESP8266 and communicating using MQTT. Everything is OK except that sounds aren't played when the application is closed (but still in the background) or simply if the screen is off. is this possible?

You need to have a foreground service.

And for it to work with Android 14+ you should add this snippet to the manifest editor:

SetServiceAttribute(Your_Service_Name, android:foregroundServiceType, "mediaPlayback")
AddPermission(android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK)
