Not sure that I understand. Do you want to remove the ActionBar shadow?

Are you seeing this on emulator?
The shadow only visible on real device.

I think that the elevation with gradient is not compliance

Add another panel below the toolbar panel with gradient and reduce the opacity to create a shadow-like effect.
