iOS Question Silent push notifications still unreliable ?

Looking to old threads, it has been said that Silent push notifications are unreliable while standard notifications always work.
Is this still true ?
I need to silent receive a notification when the App is closed, modify its text and then show it.
But it must be reliable .....

I haven't tested it with the latest version of iOS, however I would guess that they are still unreliable as they are unreliable by Apple design.

Try it. It isn't too difficult to implement. You can also combine it with the background fetch solution.
