Some time ago I did some work involving iOS photo management and did this:

based on some work by Narek Adonts - which pushed me way out of my skill set.
During the research (alright wild uncoordinated googling) I did on this it became patently obvious that the ALAssets frame work is positively ancient.
I now have a fairly important component of a major project resting on the above ALAssets stuff - which works well enough - but I am concerned for its longevity.
Aren't any of you iOS guys doing apps that involve the photo albums?
I'm hoping this will get a discussion, at least, going on this...
