Android Question Speeding up compile step?

on my machine, with 16GB RAM (3GB available according to task manager), over time, my app grew up to this compile time

Compiling generated Java code.    (27.04s)

is there any tweak we can use to speed up compilation?

I suggest go to Advanced System Settings and allocate enough Virtual Memory.
Clear your hard drive to reserve more disk space.
Maybe use a more recent version of JDK can boost the performance.

not "my machine" rather than Chrome, that is at the 3GB mark right now.
Gmail, meet, sheets are my working tools, open all time.

I'm using the JDK from the B4A install instructions

Assume windows used 3 GB of RAM, 10GB goes to browser?

This is indeed slow. Make a test - restart the PC, assuming that now there will be more RAM available, try to compile a few times. Is it still that slow?

Have you modified MaxRamForDex in the ini file? It should be at least 2048.

never touched the ini file, it's at 2024
now, after a reboot and some compile, java code is down to 6 seconds

For years I've set mine to 4096. VM should be okay already.
