(The thread title is also because of THIS SONG, I am/was a big fan of ELO!)
Today, 52 years after the man first landed to the Moon (I was born a few days before!)... , about one hour ago, Jeff Bezos made his first manned space travel with his company Blue Origin, and Richard Branson achieved a similar hit some days ago with Virgin Galactic (well, they arrived to 80/100 Km height, which is considered the border between atmosphere and space, according to different criteria).... seems that Elon Munsk and SpaceX are just preparing their helmets for September (their travel will be further away and last longer)...
Even if these two have just been 'flash' travels, it really opens a new era which at the moment (hehe, and perhaps never) is not affordable to most of us.
Perhaps some of us won't seen it, but I really wish/dream that some day in the future traveling to space will become 'reasonably' affordable and widespread so that perhaps normal humans will be able to join the experience.
(On the other hand, I can't prevent other concerns coming to my mind, such as pollution produced by these rockets, if is it ethical to spend such amounts in 'leisure' when there is so much misery on Earth, .... but, from a technological point of view it is indeed a big step!)
