Hi all,
I have noticed that there is a multitude of audio editing / recording libraries that have been kindly posted by contributors.
I've looked through them, and I am unable to find any that will provide a function to trim silence from the beginning and end of a sound file (wav, mp3 or 3ga).
Here's the deal. I'm allowing the user to record their own voice for certain functions in an app. To do this, I use the content chooser and let the user use whatever sound recording app they prefer (usually a factory default install). However, there is always a gap / area of silence at the beginning and end of the file produced - it's simply too difficult for a user to get the recording absolutely correct.
So, I need to somehow automatically remove the areas of silence at the beginning and end of the file (within a custom tolerance), and re-save the file.
Thanks well in advance for any suggestions.
