B4A always releases with new features or bugs fixes.
Remaining tune or searching for new release and then download and install is little difficult if its done every week.
I wanted some feature like I click Help > Update, and it would automatically do this.
Thanks.
While not completely automatic, the IDE does show a message about new versions at the bottom of the IDE. If you click on it, it will take you to the update thread.
Yeah, it would good as well to show New Update Available.
I suggest to have 2 buttons:
- Close and Update (close IDE, download installer and run it)
- What's new (link label that would open webpage of release that shows xxx is added, xxx is removed etc.)
I have question if you don't mind. Why not completely automatic to save some 10-30 seconds ?
Thanks.
Personally, I do not update until several weeks since there is a new version.
Sometimes it does not matter update.
And sometimes it is better to wait in case there is an error and version xx.02 is created to solve it.
@vecino
This depend on product as well.
I don't update Visual Studio because I know VS update always makes my IDE more slow.
Older VS versions were fast. And now you can guess easily about VS19.
Before, B4A v7.xx was taking 10 seconds to compile and execute app in android emulator.
And in latest v10.xx, it takes just 1.xx seconds:
Impressive !
There were more performance improvements, I verify.
So always remain tune to newer B4A updates.
