So what happens when you run your app on a device that you have not covered in the Designer Script window, meaning, you don't have the resolution variant to cover the device? Does the screen just go black/blank?

Can we have a default screen if you don't have the variant?

A variant is always loaded. The "best match" variant will be loaded.
You do not need to create a variant for each device.
