What for scale and dpi has the Xoom tablet
Xoom 1280x800 scale=? dpi=?
I don't have a Xoom to measure, but if it is 10.1" diagonally with a 16:9 aspect ratio, then its physical screen size should be about 8.8" x 5".
A scale of "1" is about 160 dpi, which is roughly what the above figures out to be.
A scale of "1.5" is about 240 dpi. A 10.1", 16:9 display with a width of 8.8" and dpi = 240, would need a resolution of about 2100 x 1200. (Someone correct me if my math is wrong.)
Update: I just read that Samsung has a 10.1" LCD display with 2,560×1,600 resolution, though it's not clear what they will do with it. Anyway, that would be more than enough for a 1.5 density 10" display.
Below are some common device sizes.
Only the two small ones have a scale of 1.5.
Xoom: 10.1", 1280x800, ~ 160 dpi
generic 10": 1024x600, ~ 120 dpi
Archos A70: 7", 800x480. ~ 140 dpi
Galaxy Tab: 7", 1024x600, ~ 170 dpi
Galaxy SGS: 4", 800x480, ~ 240 dpi
Motorola Defy: 3.6", 854x480, ~ 275 dpi
