Android Question newb question: How to reactivate app after opening inputmap dialog?

I wanted to populate an edittext box or spinner from inputmap. I launch the input map from a button, make checkbox selections, click ok to close inputmap dialog. output to log shows changes correctly but at that point program hangs. How do I solve this?
