can you generate a _click event in code?
i.e activate the spinner view within code.

I think this is what you are looking for:

Dim j As JavaObject=Spinner1
j.RunMethod("performClick",Null)

It requires the javaobject library.

This is not the case here but it is worth mentioning that if you just want to run the Click event sub then you can call it directly:

Button1_Click
