have a new notebook and tried to install B4A on it (B4J works)
After downloading and clicking on it, a message appears that i need to download an application from Windows Store to open tge B4A.exe (Installer).

Anyone an idea what is wrong ?

From your screen shot Windows isn't in 'S' mode. Edition would be like "Windows 11 Home in S Mode"

All other downloaded files (.msi, .exe, .*) can be installed properly.
Also B4J.
So maybe @Erel can give a hint

I also downloaded B4J again...and look:
it also can't be installed.

BUT: i have the download file from yesterday afternoon, and this one can be installed !
Both from the same source....

The left download works, the right one wants to load an app from Microsoft store ?!

found this on ms site might work for you ( I take they are referring to the installer)

If anyone else has the same problem the work around is:

1. Right Click

2. Show More Options

3. Troubleshoot compatability

4. Try Recommended settings (skip this if option doesn't come up)

5. Test the program

This allows the program to execute.

i simply copied the B4A Installer (downloaded yesterday on another PC) to the new one: all is fine and the file can be installed without problems.

So the solution is not found yet, but for me i have it working ;-)

It should be FB110827 - which is what you have above. So I would say that the B4A(1).exe file is okay.

However as @teddybear said, you need to check the CRC of the other file "B4A.EXE" also. If they do not match then the B4A.EXE file somehow got corrupted during the download - this can happen.

Try downloading with a different browser, or use "curl" at the command prompt and see if it downloads the file which produces the correct CRC.

curl "https://www.b4x.com/android/files/B4A.exe" --output B4A.exe

Maybe, it's your browser that's not downloading the file properly. Or the browser has cached a corrupt copy of the file. If you confirm the browser is doing this, try clearing the browser cache and downloading.
