B4ABridge connection woes - Samsung ACE GT-5830T, 2.3.4

Hi,

When B4ABridge works, it's brilliant. At other times it simply refuses to connect and I have to reboot my phone to get a connection. I just had a session trying everything I could think of ... forcing B4ABridge to shut down, re-starting B4A-IDE. Nothing worked until I re-started the phone, then it connected instantly.

Are there any known problems in this area?

Hi Erel,

Sorry, don't understand "approve the market report tool", otherwise happy to.

No, nothing crashes in the sense of stopping running. Everything keeps running (both ends) but there's no response to the connect menu item. It's as if it (the 'phone) has got itself into state where it's unaware that it should do something when I ask it to connect to the PC. The fact that a reboot of the 'phone fixes it hints to me that the connection logic in b4aBridge gets confused it a connection attempt fails.

I did however observe that sometimes selecting the disconnect menu item in b4aBridge caused it to hang up, with (AFAICR) the disconnect button still highlighted, so I had to forcibly stop it. I guess that rates as a crash. Does that provide a clue?

I just today commissioned a brand new laptop, so I'll see how it goes over the next few days.

My experience of thousands of bugs over many years is that sometimes you just have to observe over a period of time and wait for your subconscious to suddenly spot the problem. Sometimes, too, the problem will simple stop manifesting as we develop ways to subconsciously avoid them.

Sorry, I got that wrong. That was a problem I have connecting on BlueTooth, using a program derived from your serial example (with AsyncStreams and some of my own app stuff). But those problems are likely a function of the BT to serial converter I am using from a company called MDFLY, so I am not raising them in this forum, yet
