I am currently testing the evaluation version of basic4ppc. It looks very promissing! Unfortunately there's no network capability to test without adding a library (which is not possible with the trial version).
What I am looking for is a way to discover network devices that implement the Simple Service Discovery Protocol. Is there a library available for basic4ppc that allows me to discover devices connected to the same (wireless) network as my android device? I am basically looking for a way to discover a device's IP address so it can be consumed without having to enter the address in question. Example: A remote control App that is looking for a certain MediaPlayer (i.e. a dune) when the app is first started.
