Getting Settings for DATE/TIME

Hi.

I have an application that is basically a time-clock for a bunch of field technicians. Turns out that some of them have figured out how to turn off the settings option "Get Time from Network", then manually change the time and clock in or out.

Does anyone know a way to check this setting, then change it if necessary?

I would try and access a remote clock when they're signing in/out or if you can't do that all the time then try to write a service to grab the time from a server and then maintain your own clock within your service, i.e. use a timer to update your clock.

Assuming that your program communicates with the server then you don't need to use the system clock at all. You should use the server time instead.

Thanks, Guys, but when the technicians are out in the field I cannot guarantee they will always have internet connectivity. Sometimes have to save the transaction in the phone until later. I would encounter the same problem with trying to get the time from a Time Server.

Assuming they use the app to clock in too, you could make it run a service in the future to check that the time is as it should be.
