After having to reinstall everything on my computer I find that when I compile and run my application and call up a Google map it shows up blank. Anyone have any ideas?
So, I'm seeing this with other Google map related apps as well - the maps come up blank, I'm sure there is a simple explanation - wish someone would respond...
A correction here: the map is not really blank, but shows up white - with the Google logo in the lower left corner and other controls displayed.
Not having seen any response for a day or so, I went ahead and did more research. I loaded a previously compiled APK for my app and it displayed the map just fine - as did Erel's "googlemap" test APK. Everything pointed to a problem with my API key. I don't know if these keys expire, or whether something got screwed up when I had to fully restore my Windows 7 installation and reload all my software.
I proceeded to create a new key for my app after renaming the package, and lo and behold - my Google map are now displaying. If anyone has an explanation for what transpired I'd like to hear about it.
